The St. Charles County Administration Building at 201 N. Second Street in St. Charles is now reopen to the public with normal operating hours. Access is limited to the first floor. Upon entrance to any County building, employees and the public are encouraged to wear cloth facial protection, and everyone is required to have a health screening, including temperature check, before entering. Those with a fever or who have other COVID-19 symptoms will not be permitted to enter the building. View release for more information.
The Community Development Department has a representative in the lobby behind a plexiglass shield in a shared space when needed. Visitors also are encouraged to call 636-949-7346 to make an appointment in advance.

The Community Development Department is comprised of three divisions: Building and Code Enforcement, Development Review, and Planning and Zoning. The divisions provide services relating to permitting and inspecting new construction, community planning, zoning, subdivision matters, code enforcement inspections, and review and approval of development improvement plans.

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO ST. CHARLES COUNTY’S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT-FUNDED PROGRAMS
The St. Charles County Council invites public comments on proposed changes to CDBG-funded programs in response to additional CDBG funds (CDBG-CV) provided under the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).
The County Council will hold two public hearings as follows:
- Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 7:00 pm: to adopt a revised Citizen Participation Plan
- Monday, June 8, 2020 at 7:00 pm: to amend the County’s 2016-2020 Consolidated Plan and 2019 Annual Action Plan
Both public hearings will be held at the following location:

Enter the “Court and Auditorium” entrance on the north side of the building facing Suemandy Drive and Mid Rivers Mall. Parking is available across Suemandy Drive adjoining the Mall parking lot.
