COVID-19 Latest News (Updated May 29, 2020)
The St. Charles County Administration Building at 201 N. Second Street in St. Charles is now reopen to the public with normal operating hours. Access is limited to the first floor. Upon entrance to any County building, employees and the public are encouraged to wear cloth facial protection, and everyone is required to have a health screening, including temperature check, before entering. Those with a fever or who have other COVID-19 symptoms will not be permitted to enter the building. View release for more information.

While parks remain open for outdoor recreation, guests are required to continue to follow social distancing and CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Restrooms, camping, cabins and group camping have reopened to the public. Shelter and indoor facility rentals have resumed with restrictions—online reservations are limited to shelters, individual campsite and cabin registrations only; The Grand Pavilion, indoor facility and group camping reservations must be made by calling our office at 636-949-7535. The Heritage Museum is open, limited tours of The Historic Daniel Boone Home are available, park programs have resumed, and Paddle Share Rentals are open. The Youth Activity Park will open to the public Monday, June 1. Dog parks, playgrounds, drinking fountains and the camping kitchen and showers at Klondike Park remain closed. The St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department, St. Charles City-County Library and St. Charles County Historical Society are working together to document the effects the pandemic is having on our community. If you are a St. Charles County resident or live in a surrounding community, consider participating in this historic initiative by sharing your experiences. Personal narratives submitted will be recorded in history and serve as an educational tool for future generations.

All submissions will be added to an online digital collection and serve as a historic database. Hard copies of the form will be available at each location when these organizations are able to reopen.

The St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department offers unique parks, diverse facilities and a broad range of programs and special events for all ages to enjoy, in addition to features that enhance the region's historical and natural environmental heritage. A number of amenities are available for use by groups, families, and individuals at each of the St. Charles County parks. Included in this are picnic shelters, camping facilities, and indoor lodges that can host weddings, family functions, and business conferences.
Discover all the exciting amenities this 120-acre park has to offer, including a destination playground for children of all abilities, a walking and biking trail system, fishing lakes, a dog park, play fields, and more! The park's Veterans Memorial Garden, which honors St. Charles County soldiers who died in service to our nation since World War I, opened in November 2019.
