COVID-19 Latest News - Updated June 1, 2020

Effective June 1, 2020, the St. Charles County Division of Humane Services and Pet Adoption Center have reopened to the public, but are limiting visitation with animals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those interested in adoptions/fostering, in locating lost pets or for other services should complete any applications and make an appointment prior to visiting the facility. Please review our available pet photos and photos of recently found pets on our website and make an appointment to visit our facility by calling 636-949-7387.

Please be aware that building restrictions are in place. Upon entrance to any County building, employees and the public are encouraged to wear cloth facial protection, and everyone is required to have a health screening, including temperature check, before entering. Those with a fever or who have other COVID-19 symptoms will not be permitted to enter the building. Browsing of animals inside the Pet Adoption Center is not permitted at this time.

Those wishing to surrender a pet should call 636-949-7467 for assistance. Your call will be returned within 48 hours.

About Us

The Division of Humane Services promotes the health, safety and welfare of animals and people in St. Charles County. The division operates the Pet Adoption Center, which offers dogs, cats and other animals of all ages, sizes and colors for adoption into loving homes. To ensure proper treatment of animals and to protect St. Charles County residents, the division is responsible for enforcing the St. Charles County Animal Control Ordinance. In addition, staff works to reunite missing pets with their owners and offers assistance to those seeking help in raising their pets.
