  1. Basic Sanitation Certification Class

    Designed for owners, managers and employees of area food service providers, these classes will provide sanitation instruction for all food handlers. Anyone preparing, serving, transporting, warehousing, stocking or handling food in any manner should complete this course. Participants must earn a score of 70 or higher on a 50-question final examination to become certified.
    Please recognize that this class may be canceled or rescheduled if there is insufficient enrollment.

  2. Canine Carnival

    Nearly one-half of all American households has a dog, and the 3rd Annual Canine Carnival celebrates the tight bond that owners have with their pets. This FREE, family-friendly event features discounted adoptions, games, giveaways, exhibits and other festivities to celebrate "Man's Best Friend." Activities include:

    • A special adoption rate of $30 for all dogs, ages 2 and older - half-off the regular fee.
    • Animal demonstrations and owners discussions.
    • Carnival games.
    • Giveaways and raffles.
    • Treats available for purchase.

  3. Operation Sterile Feral (by appointment only)

    St. Charles County has operated a successful spay/neuter program for feral cats since 2003 and has treated thousands of animals to help control overpopulation. The Operation Sterile Feral program is run through the County's Pet Adoption Center and a team of volunteers. One Sunday each month, residents may bring feral cats from their property to take advantage of the affordable service.
    The $20 per animal fee includes alteration, vaccination for rabies and treatment for any parasites the cat may have.

  4. Pet Food Pantry

    Qualifying pet owners will receive dry dog or cat food on a first-come, first-served basis.

    To qualify, pet owners must:

    • Register in advance by calling 636-949-7387 and present identification proving St. Charles County residency
    • Show proof of need
    • Show proof of current rabies vaccination for each animal covered or update the animal's shot record at the time of registration.
    • Show proof that the animal is altered or make arrangements to do so at the time of registration.
    • Bring a container large enough to carry at least three pounds of food.

  5. MRC Membership Meeting and Training

    In times of need, many lend their neighbors a helping hand. St. Charles County's Medical Reserve Corps is a volunteer-based unit or medically trained and non-medical professionals alike who put their knowledge and skills to use in helping our community. The Department of Public Health sponsors the local MRC unit. Monthly meetings are designed to prepare members for all-hazard emergencies. Discussions include the various roles within the County's emergency response plan, hands-on training opportunities and advanced certifications. Membership is open to any individual, ages 18 or older.
